The proportions of a woman’s breasts have a direct influence on the overall shape of her body. Because of this, women who feel their breasts are saggy or small often don’t feel happy with the way their bodies look.

For these women, an augmentation mastopexy may be an ideal solution. An augmentation mastopexy procedure is a combination breast lift and breast augmentation surgery that can give patients fuller, perkier, and more symmetrical breasts.

EXCELLENT CANDIDATES FOR AUGMENTATION MASTOPEXY

If you would like to improve the shape, size, and symmetry of your breasts with augmentation mastopexy surgery, you should first arrange a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. During this consultation, you will find out if you are a good candidate for the procedure.

Many women choose augmentation mastopexy surgery to address aging issues. As with any other part of the body, the breasts tend to sag and lose their shape with age. The effects of aging can be seen more in the breasts than in most of the other parts of the body.

Sagging occurs due to the decline in elasticity and firmness of the breast tissues over time. This can begin as early as your 30s. There is also a natural loss of volume. An augmentation mastopexy corrects both the sagging of the breasts and the loss of volume, making it one of the best techniques to get your breasts back into shape.

This procedure can also be ideal for women whose natural development did not match their aesthetic goals. With an augmentation mastopexy, these women can get the full, voluminous, and perky breasts that they’ve always desired.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM AN AUGMENTATION MASTOPEXY?

• Fuller, more voluminous breasts
• Perky, well-shaped breasts that sit higher up on the chest
• More symmetrical breasts

THE AUGMENTATION MASTOPEXY PROCESS

Augmentation mastopexy surgery usually requires around three hours to perform. At the start of augmentation mastopexy, the patient will receive sedation anesthesia in order to make them comfortable for the duration of the procedure.

Following this, incisions will be created for insertion of the breast implants. These can be made in the breast folds (the inframammary incision) or around the areolae (the periareolar incision). The incision location and pattern for each patient is determined during the consultation.

After insertion of the silicone or saline breast implants, the breast lift part of the procedure will be performed. This involves removal of excess skin in order to tighten the region. The nipple-areolar complex may also be shifted or otherwise altered in order to better fit the new proportions of the breast.

To complete the process, the incisions are closed with absorbable sutures and a surgical bra is placed. There are no drains used in these procedures.
